With the 68L MOS, after basic and school, is it the same as a bachelors degree in occupational therapy assistant?

With the 68L MOS after basic and school is it the same as a Bashlor degree in occupational therapy assistant? After the school could I take the occupational therapy assistant state test? Or would I have to continue going to school and if so how long?

I'll try to send you more, however, most likely, I think, you'd ne allowed a block of credits for such training, not a whole associates, OT asst (OTA), as you'll see from that site I'd sent, is generally assocs level, not bachelors level, also, bachelor's level PTs no longer exist pretty much in the US, they're all doctoral level now, the DPT degree, six urs long, undergrad through doctorate, or a four ur doctorate of you walk in with a bachelors, I'd expect...there's also a doctoral level OT, a DOT, though, in most states, to ne licensable, note, licemsable, not certified, they're not the same, one needs now to ne minimum masters leve

The required degree for an OTA is an Associate's degree, not a Bachelor's degree. Regardless you won't come out of AIT with a degree. The leadership down at METC has been working with some colleges to allow individuals to earn a degree with some additional training, but I don't think anything has been established at this point in time. I know on the PTA side there has been talk of transitioning to a Bachelor's degree, but that's probably years away. OT schools are in the process of transitioning from an entry level Master's to a clinical Doctorate. I imagine that's going to keep their credentialing body, AOTA, busy for a while so any "degree creep" for OTAs is probably several years off.

It looks like OTA programs are just now starting the transition and they must be Bachelor's degree programs by 2027. Most of these programs are at community colleges so I'm not sure how smooth the transition will be.

I graduated as a N3 in 2008 (before 68L was its own MOS), you will get the equivalent of an Associates degree, but will only obtain the certification which will allow you to take the certification exam. If and when you pass, you can apply through your state to obtain your professional licensure and be considered a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
I was also able to attend a Master’s bridge program from COTA to OTR using my military transcripts, you just have to do the leg work for the certification and professional licensure.

34 weeks of training and you want a bachelors. The key word in the MOS is Assistant.

No, after graduating from the school you will receive an Associates of Health Science from the University of the Incarnate Word. This was changed in 2014 but is still a certificate course. You must meet the college pre-requisites to earn the degree prior to going to the school or they'll send you home.

Then you will be allowed to take the national examination. After you pass the national exam, costs 500 bucks, you will be certified and then can be licensed in states, but you have to meet the state's requirements to be licensed.
