I see all these apps with Army TMs / Field Manuals available but not the ACE card.

I feel as if it would be a good idea to implement a new app that allows soldiers to access a digital ACE card via a smartphone. In case if we don't have it on us in an actual time of need.

Along with a suicide prevention card app that you can manually fill out for POCs within your chain of command (just like on the normal suicide reaction card).

It's important to have these cards on you at all times, but some of us forget the physical cards and no one goes anywhere without their cellphone.

--- and for the people who say "Oh I will never use this dumb ACE/suicide prevention card crap"

I've had to use mine twice to assure my battle buddy would not kill himself. The card can actually save a life believe it or not.

Thoughts?

Perhaps I'm being excessively curmudgeonly, but do you really need a card to remind you of 3 common-sense steps to take? Memory is a skill which atrophies with disuse.

And do you really need a special app to keep you chain of command's emergency contact information on your smart phone?

that's a fantastic idea, and probably something the army could whip up pretty quick... I downloaded plenty of apps for stuff like 9 line, CFF, and leader stuff...
