This is sure to be a hot topic over the coming hours, days, and weeks. How do you feel America should respond?

These bastards are like Samael - you kill 1 and 2 more are born singing the "I Hate America" anthem. I say we pull all our folks out of harm's way, post big "travel at your own risk" signs at the airport and let these people be. Any citizen who joins them gets their citizenship revoked and anyone who travels their at their own risk - you were warned. Maybe after a few years of ignoring these people, they'll just go away like Octo-mom, Monica Lewinski and Tanya Harding.

The problem as I see it we have been in conflict with countries with a common thread. All of them have in fighting between sunni's and shia's. I say pick one side arm them to the teeth and then take a few steps back.

We can't even control visa's in the U.S. How are we going to tighten our borders to keep them out. We can't put our heads in the sand and hope they go away. They have made it pretty clear with their threats. Nobody wants more boots on the ground, but we need to come up with a plan. We have to quit the fancy speeches give up golf and fix this!

I respect everyone's opinion on this site.

But to ignore these people is foolish, we need to take these people serious. If you think about it, our country has been formed by the same or similar tactics. We can't just leave, we would be failing those that helped us. History repeats itself, we have been in Germany since 1945 and still there, like Germany I have a feeling we will be in the middle east as long as we have been in Germany if not longer.
Has anyone heard the expression " The enemy of my enemy is a friend".
We cannot control the whole world, But we can make the world aware that we will not tolerate the bull S#$it being fed us. We take care of the individuals that want to harm us or just stand by as the Jewish people did while in Germany during the thirties. They as the rest of the world never contemplated what could happen.

The people of the middle east as a whole do not want what is being done in their name. It is the few that commit the atrocities that is happening.

My Uncle lived in Iran prior to the Iranian government taking the hostages. Its not the people its those that took control of their government. Religion has been an excuse for killing thy neighbor.

Why not live and let live

SPC Stephenson, we tried that before and it didn't work out so well. Back when the USSR was enemy #1 we funded and armed a young Saudi "freedom fighter" named Osama bin Laden and his mujahideen to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan. We would be wise to consider the potential unintended consequences before funding another group of extremists in a proxy war.

The appropriate response is to kill every Jihadist everywhere whether in Syria, Iraq, Somalia or US.

No, personally I hope when they meet Allah they are rewarded with 72 of the ugliest male virgins ever born. That'll teach the bastards.

I view ISIS like I do a Hornets' nest, if you do not destroy early, it will continue to expand, and the Hornets will attack you regardless if you leave them alone or not.
If you get it early, it is easy to take care of and your done with it. You wait too long, it gets harder to destroy the nest, there is more of them to attack you, and they just keep coming back because it is hard to get them all in one place and at one time.

Unfortunately, the current policy of little to no intervention has gotten us to the latter position.
