With the change in DA Photos in regard to Board Packets (no longer used), what purpose do DA photos now serve?

Too early to tell. They may still get used for nominative jobs....or not at all.

It’s very likely that in the future we go to DA photos with the hands and head blacked out to hide color and sex. Leaders still want to see if people look fat in uniform

Well there still packet MOS’s/Schools/SMU’s that require DA Photo for the purpose of the hiring process. The message only refers to promotions but if this is the route we’re going I could see that change very soon also.

There are a lot more selection boards than just promotion boards. Nominative assignments, for example.
