If their gender was discovered, they were discharged, some were still given pensions. <br /><br /> During the world wars women were allied to enlist. They were kept far from combat, however, in 1942 in the Philippines 67 were captured by the Japanese and held as POWs for almost 3 years. <br /><br /><br /> So what other fun facts are out there, since there is always plenty of facts out there.
