SFC Cornelius Walsh 121503 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>While some of us strive for professionalism, we've all had our "special" Soldiers that leave us with memories, and hopefully, leave the Army.<br /><br />While going through some contacts, I stumbled across the name of a former Soldier who, at one point during a very ugly time in his short-lived career, actually engaged in the following exchange after threatening to 'take out' our Section Sergeant.<br /><br />MSG: Who do you think you are Private XXX?!?!<br /><br />PFC: You need to watch your back, I'm a trained killer!<br /><br />MSG: OH really, Private? And how did YOU become a trained killer!<br /><br />PFC: I know I am cause I went to Basic Training!<br /><br />While years ago, this may have been something defused after a trip to the woodline for some motivational PT, the shift in Army culture makes this a bit more frightening. So as Leaders, what have you seen/heard? How would you react? No weapons just fists and lots of trees to bounce him off of. Half hour later, we have both gotten a good workout, and he has learned that he isn't the trained killer he thought he was. Why is it that FNG's and attitudes seem to go hand in hand? All of the sudden he tells me that I'm lucky these rounds (pointing to his M4) were blanks and not real....... Well,... FM 22-102 went into effect.......
