Would becoming blind while my husband is at NTC be something that gets him home? If not are there resources to assist me/kids in his absence?

Do you have a contact for his unit? I would start there. I will do some checking and get back to you. Also Red Cross Hero Network...we have caseworkers who can help you put in an emergency leave request and get your situation verified. http://www.redcross.org/emergencycommunication

Sorry it took so long to get back to you Lt Col Charlie Brown I was given the run around for a little bit, unfortunately there is nothing the Red Cross can do because it is not an emergency situation or traumatic injury. They did tell me I should get with the rear detachment for assistance but there is only so much they can do. However, when I did call back the second time I got some really helpful info so we are going to start on that when he get back

Actually start with the 877 number I posted. They will help and get it sorted out.
