Yes it has me set for life but being 24, almost 25 I am wondering if it is 1. Too late to change. 2. What does it take to go pursue that job. 3. How to transition from Air National Guard to Active Duty Army if I did up and pursue the Army MOS. Would do myself a disservice by leaving the Air National Guard and pursuing the 13F MOS in the Army? 2018-01-22T09:57:12-05:00 SSgt Private RallyPoint Member 3282237

I am a Loadmaster for the Air National Guard and I am in a job I can retire from. If you change from AF to Reg Army, make sure if you would have to go through Boot again. I was told, by an Army recruiter, that most AF AFSCs have to redo Boot - the only exceptions were SOF & SecForces because their daily jobs were still similar to Army life.
How long have you been in? The Army doesn't believe in hotels, comfort, or anything else till you get to flag rank. You are still young. I enlisted at an older age than you are now.
2) Qualify for the job and for it to be available. I would have other Army MOSs that you are interested in as well. Some similar: 12B, 19D, 18X, and 11X. It hurts when you are job-locked, even though 13F is fairly common.
3) First, you to get a DD-368 from an Army Recruiter, which is the conditional release form. You will then turn this into your chain of command and it will go to whoever has release authority. Once you have an approved DD-368, you take it back to the Army and they will start processing you. During the time that you are processing and until the time that you ship out, you will have to maintain your status with the ANG. If you get in trouble with them, it can cancel your ability to go to the Active Army. Once your date comes to ship out, you ship out.

You will have to go to PSBCT, which is BCT for PS. It is shorter. Then you would head to AIT for 13F (or whatever MOS you choose).

Also, do you have the option for TACP? It is a similar job to 13F and seems pretty cool. You can also go 13f and get airborne or ranger if that is something you might want to do Response by SGT Sean Prestley made Jan 24 at 2018 5:32 PM 2018-01-24T17:32:53-05:00 2018-01-24T17:32:53-05:00 PV2 Private RallyPoint Member 3370888

Do it 13f is a awesome job i love this shit haha.
