He is a solid candidate making significant progress, lets see how he performs in the upcoming debates. I'll take him any day over Jeb or Chris.

He is probably the most intelligent candidate running and he also has good sense and is a quick study. He is the adult in the room.

I think Dr. Carson would be the best chance this country has to come together and heal its wounds since Reagan.

Why couldn't he be? If he surrounds himself with a respectable support and advisor team he could do anything. But he needs to slow down with the hawkish rhetoric in regards to war. He could be just as good if not better than anyone else currently running.

SPC Andrew Griffin - Dr Carson is a very intelligent man and, as such, probably knows his limitations. I think he would rely on the experience and recommendations of his military commanders and, hopefully, pick a SECDEF and key DoD personnel with the requisite background, knowledge and experience to return our military to where it needs to be.

Ultimately, as CINC, he has to make the decision, however, he strikes me as someone who would not shoot from the hip and who would follow the recommendations of those who have the knowledge and experience.

So far, his statements have not irked me. I would be willing to give him a shot. Being what he does, he has to know how to take control of a room to get the mission done

I think he is willing to listen to people that are smart in the areas he isn't. I cannot say that about all of the candidates, so in short, yes.

SPC Andrew Griffin I would trust him running the government and I believe he has ability to delegate effectively and hold people accountable.
Health care is the single largest expense of the federal government, so if he can bring some rationality to just health care, he can help solve the current and long-term deficits.
He has significant international experience from overseas medical conferences and events.
Dr. Carson is in my top 5 candidates I would vote for.

From what I have seen he would most likely make a very strong political leader. I wouldn't hesitate to vote for him, something I can't say for other candidates. I hope he makes the Republican ticket.

I'm not sure he would be effective as POTUS. It is about the staff you have. But I think he my try to align the staff based on yes men. You have to believe all he believes for him to credit your opinion. You have to have a REASONABLY voice of opposition to challenge your critical thinking? As a surgeon he commands the room because he gets to control everything in the room and can control everything in the room except the patient. He is a brilliant mind. He stands strong on his beliefs, but there is always going to be compromise in that job and I'm not sure that he is that open to it

Dear Patriotic American, In the last few weeks you and I have witnessed the most vicious, dishonest attacks ever unleashed by the left-wing news media against a political candidate. Make no mistake, this was a well-planned, cold and calculating attempt to drive Ben Carson from the race to the White House. It is a coordinated media effort to drive the one person who is sure to defeat Hillary Clinton out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination. It was all lies, but the media was sure that if they struck fast enough, told lies that were big enough, and broadcast their attack broad enough, Ben Carson would fold. He would walk away with his tail between his legs. Our country is at stake. Ben Carson said that he was verbally offered a scholarship to West Point. The media said that has to be a lie because West Point does not offer scholarships. Wrong! It turns out West Point has run ads talking about a full paid scholarship to West Point like the one shown below. The words in the red box say... "Each year about 1200 men and women take advantage of the opportunity to attend West Point on a full government scholarship which includes tuition, room and board, medical and dental care, and an annual salary." The media said Ben Carson claimed he had applied to West Point. False! In the same book where Ben Carson talks about the verbal offer he received from General William Westmoreland to go to West Point, Ben Carson states flatly that he declined the offer and that the only school he applied to was Yale because he only had enough money to apply to one school. What about the weird charge that Ben Carson made up the stories about his violent temper in his youth, especially the story of Ben attempting to stab another boy and then asking God to take away his temper. That event has now been verified by a May 11, 1997 issue of Parade Magazine in which Sonya Carson, Ben’s mother, tells the interviewer about that particular episode and about young Ben Carson’s temper. Then there was the lie that Ben Carson made up the story of attending a Yale University psychology seminar where the professor said all the tests had burned up and now the students needed to take a new, much harder test. Carson said he stayed and took the test even though the other students walked out. When he became the only one in the room, the professor confessed that it was an experiment to see who was the most honest student in the room. That was, of course, the last student, Ben Carson. Politico and others said this was a lie, but it turns out that the story of that event was published in the Yale University student newspaper. So, the attacks on the character of Ben Carson were lies, all lies. And, the news media apologized, right? Of course not, the liberal media never apologizes. Instead, they doubled down on their lies and are still promoting them today. They won’t give up. The media is powerful and they are determined to drive Dr. Ben Carson out of the race for President. Carson is not only ahead in the national polls, he is also now ahead in Iowa, South Carolina, Tennessee and Michigan. And, he is picking up momentum each day. Ben Carson is the one man who will not compromise his integrity or his principles for political reasons. And, the candidacy of Ben Carson scares the bejeebers out of the Democrats. Polls show that unlike any other Republican contender for the GOP nomination, Ben Carson beats Hillary Clinton by 10 points! So please don’t let the lies and distortions of the news media stand.Just try to imagine what it is like to have your character impugned on national television and in the newspapers. It’s disgusting. Several self-serving Republican candidates, including Donald Trump, have joined the media attempt to drive Ben Carson from this race.

I'm not really sure. I think he would absolutely need to surround himself with top people to do so; he's woefully lacking in foreign policy knowledge and has never been in the government before. I do really like a lot of what he has to say but go back and forth on whether his total lack of political experience is his greatest strength or weakness.

Absolutely,

He's calm and level-headed, not clamoring over the nuclear button. He's got a good sense, and doesn't blindly jump into things. He's fully capable of taking advice in areas that are not his specialty. Ask yourself this question, "Do you want tactical military decisions to be made by someone with a career in political football, or someone who's willing to take advice from someone with decades of military experience and give them the mission and allow them to handle the military tactics?"

People look at Dr. Carson and think he's weak in foreign policy. You ask me, I am about sick and tired of having a CIC who acts like he knows everything, takes advice from no one, and makes national security a political issue. So having someone who's willing to admit that though he does his best to stay well-informed in foreign policy, it's not his expertise and surrounds himself with people who are, is a strength not a weakness.
