Would I have to complete BCT again after being a security clearance hold?

I attended basic training for the Army last year. I graduated and was not able to ship to AIT because my security clearance had not came through yet. I was a hold over in BCT for 7 months and was chaptered. I would like to re-join but do not want to complete BCT again. Is there any way I'd be able to go straight to AIT?

Since you didn't actually complete training that would reward you your MOS and because you were previously chaptered, then yes you would have to.

You are not considered a veteran or prior service unless you completed MOS training and than serve 180 days of continuous service. So your prior completion of BCT will not matter. You will be considered new and have to do it all again.

The answer to your question is found in your DD214, take a look at it. In the DD214 it's stated what you are credited with. If it gives you credit for basic, well basic complete. However I am curious as to why you didn't get reclassified to an MOS that don't require the clearance? How come you did not receive a new date? What caused your clearance to stall? Go see a recruiter. I guess you really don't want to get back in, a person who is 100% committed, would not hesitate to do basic training again.

I attended Infantry OSUT this summer and due to a poor choice I made I was chaptered out after 11.5 weeks of training. I have since been cleared for a waiver and will be returning to redo BCT this spring, to do the right thing and become the very best soldier I can be! I know this'll sound crazy, but I really miss the the shooting, the cadences, the Drill Sergeant smoking the living dog shit out of us, hell I miss cleaning that M4 and pulling Fire Guard/CQ duties! Most of all I miss that OCP! I can't wait to go through again!!

I'm curious why you have a problem with a security clearance. There's a lot of competition as well, and I have no idea what is needed for say a basic 03 billet. I was a radio repair guy and because I had access to crypto gear I needed a secret clearance. The guy I went in was also targeted in the 2800 field, he got busted for pot before basic, and they reassigned his mos to driving trucks.
