If i go thru OCS, would I still need to attend IBOLC? Even if I already went thru OSUT? Would I still have to go to IBOLC? 2018-11-08T07:08:17-05:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 4109694 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Considering to commission in the National Guard. The only people that I know of that are exempted from Officer Basic are some of the Direct Commission things like JAG. Your going to find the IBOLC is a completely different world from OSUT and OCS. Get in shape, because the PT in IBOLC is designed to get you in condition for Ranger School. If your state has slots, I would highly advise trying to get them to slot you for Airborne and Ranger right after your Basic Course. Command wants every Infantry Lt to leave Fort Benning with a Ranger tab, or at least a tab. OSUT or not, you will go to IBOLC, if you branch Infantry. IBOLC and EBOLC are unlike most other BOLCs, as their goal is to prepare you for another course. It is much different and much more leadership-centric. You’ll need it to be ready to be an IN PL.
