Would it be an issue if I went active duty Army immediately after the leaving the Reserves, with a few weeks break in service? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/would-it-be-an-issue-if-i-went-active-duty-army-immediately-after-the-leaving-the-reserves-with-a-few-weeks-break-in-service

Has anyone had any experience joining active duty army immediately after the reserve? I was active then went reserve when I ets’d. My reserve contract is over in about 5 months and I decided not to go the 368 route, as it would arrive by the time my contract ended.

Also, would it be an issue if I had like a few weeks break in service? Due to working with a recruiter after I get out of the reserve? My recruiter told me as long as I stay Green in medpros, I still will not have to do the medical part of MEPS again. Only thing is your reserve time and active duty time both count to see where you fall under the prior business service rules. But wouldn't you be in the IRR or you will be totally off contract? They are always adjusting the standards based on need/politics, so if that is the case and you don't want to re-do basic, wait for then to get desperate. In '07 they were taking almost anyone. Could take weeks, or months in that gap. SFC Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 05 Feb 2019 11:03:05 -0500 2019-02-05T11:03:05-05:00 2019-02-04T18:47:44-05:00
