One that is regionally accredited. Don't fall into the, oh we're nationally accredited, trap. Not worth the paper it's written on.

Any are fine, but if you look at the D1 colleges that are big football and basketball schools, they typically have robust online programs.

I was looking at Troy and Arkansas State for an MPA. MBA's can be found everywhere if that's the route you're looking to go.

I received my Masters from American Intercontinental University, they are a regionally accredited university, have six campuses (in the US and abroad) and an online division, AIU Online. I liked the freedom of studying when I had the time, and they have accelerated degree programs so you can work on it year round and finish faster than at a brick and mortar school.

It depends on what discipline you intend to get a master's degree in. Different universities have different degree programs and differing levels of rigour in their programs. This is a decision that really can't be crowd sourced. I'm currently researching graduate programs in planetary geology. Even among geological programs, not all offer the focus that I'm looking for. Some don't have a schedule that is conducive for my lifestyle. Some would require uprooting my wife and I. Every one of these factors need to be considered before you make your decision and we, with little or no knowledge of your circumstance, cannot assist you in this matter.

Agree with deciding what discipline you desire first.
Second I would look at GRE or GMAT requirements.
Some programs do not require either.
That may or may not be a factor. When I was applying for ACS, I was downrange with no time to study and no ability to take either, so my applications focused on programs that did not require.

If looking for an online MBA, I would recommend North Carolina, Penn State, or the University of Maryland. As a disclaimer, I go to Maryland and it is a fairly difficult program. If you job is demanding I would say it is back breaking, but you will learn a lot. If you are going to invest the time for a graduate degree I would highly recommend going to an upper tier college.

I can't speak for anyone else by Saint Leo has an online Masters degree program. As Saint Leo is a military friendly college. I am one course away from completing my MBA in Health Care Management. The courses for me were mid to hard in the form of difficulty. I have been able to maintain a GPA for 3.789 so far.

Norwich University in Vermont for Masters level. Depending on what type specialization you are looking for, they would be he University for you. Well respected ,one of the oldest military academies. Very strong Alumni! Best bang for your buck!

I did a MS in Quality Assurance at Cal State Dominguez Hills (http://www.csudh.edu/MSQA).. 100% online and my employer paid for it. Good to go in my opinion. Good luck!

First, I want to echo what many others have said. Don't attend a degree mill or a for-profit institution. Both can offer quality educations but are often seen with a stigma of being inferior in the civilian world. Attend a school that is regionally affiliated and preferably a university that has a brick and mortar campus. <-- Better recognition

If you are paying out of pocket and want to do it on the cheap, Liberty University offers several online graduate level programs and really takes care of the military. A complete Masters degree is somewhere in the ballpark of $10k (to include all fees). However, the university is a "Christian" university so the bible is mentioned in quite a few of their classes, which can be off-putting for some.

If $$$ isn't as big as an issue and you would like a Masters degree that is recognized internationally, I strongly recommend my Alma Mater, Texas A&M University. I have a Masters of Industrial Distribution from TAMU. It is a degree that translated very well to the civilian world and is very lucrative. They also have a 100% placement rate for graduates. The MID program is 95% online. For the program, you are not required to have any sort of background in logistics, sales, or procurement as they accept folks from all disciplines.

Texas A&M is the most conservative, pro-military public university I have ever seen. I have written more about it on the Texas A&M Rally Point page. Check it out or reach out to me via message and I will be glad to tell you about the program and the university.

As others have indicated one needs first to consider what you prefer to study. Often to many military students that decision is part of both the cost and time components. All things being equal, in my view one school stands far above the others. First, it's a traditional University with a real campus, thousands of students long before they expanded on line. Secondly this University has demonstrated with action(S) their commitment to both veterans and active duty members. In 2011 - 2012 when budget issues resulted in DoD shutting down tuition assistance the University President with full support took the "unbelievable" action of awarding financial aid equal in $ to what was lost from tuition assistance. Not one active duty member's education had to be disrupted as a result of tuition assistance cuts. I recommend Southern New Hampshire University provided you find an academic program that meets your needs. Good luck.

If at all possible, please consider a brick and mortar institution, even if it's Webster University. I did Webster because of my military situation at the time. It took 5 years and 3 duty stations going nights, weekends, and holidays but it was worth it. That said, if you can get into a "name" institution that has an accredited masters program that's online and you have no options because of deployment or something similar like the Pentagon basement, then go for it but make sure it's a "name" institution and the accreditation is verifiable.

I recommend you look to your future and how the degree fits in the larger scheme of your life goals. Your time is valuable. Enjoy what you are studying. The Army on the other hand doesn't much care what your master's is in, unless it is needed for your duties -- in which case they pay for it. So choose for your own interests first and foremost. I got my Masters from an online program that actually happens to be a "brick and mortar" school. The only reason I chose the online version of it is because I work full time. However, I was extremely impressed with the course material and professors.

My Masters is in Forensic Science and I received it from National University San Diego, CA. The school is both regionally & nationally accredited. All of my professors were not only highly educated, but current or recently retired practitioners in the field. For instance, my forensic pathology I & II professor was the assistant Chief Medical Examiner/Pathologist for San Diego County. So we got to examine many real death investigation cases. At any rate, I was very happy with the format and quality of instruction there, despite being almost entirely online.

I have been in online education for the last 10 years and have worked for or have been exposed to many different programs (both wholly online and brick & mortar with online programs). I can tell you the advantages and disadvantages in both cases. Stigma is not one of them in this day and age. Stigma only comes into play when accreditation comes into question. For-profit and non-profit schools are another misunderstood concept that I would be happy to share with anyone wanting to know. I recommend you stop by your Education Officer. Regional accreditation is a must. If you want flexibility try Western Governor University (non-profit competency based). If you want traditional approach - there are a slew of good schools on-line. Make sure they are military friendly, and well respected, hence a visit to your post Ed Officer.

I'm doing my Master's at Argosy University Twin Cities, it gives life experience credits, takes JSTs, accepts VA benefits, and gives 20% deal for active, reserve, or vets. Has accredited 100% online too! Associates-Doctoral.

Websters has some opportunities as well as Norwich University. I liked that Norwich had no GRE requirement. Just research what you want to do carefully!

Smart ass answers - in middle school.

Serious answer -
-first, ask yourself why you want a Masters.
-second, then ask yourself how this masters will serve your career/life plans for the next 5-10-20+ years.
-third, select a field of study that serves your plans and is of actual interest to you.
-fourth, find out who offers a credible masters in that field of study AND accommodates the demands of your current career, your current posting, and potentially your next posting.

Once you've done the above, the sooner the better.
