My husband is 100% service connected. He was in Korea for one year. Would he be eligible for property tax relief?

Property tax laws and therefore exemptions based on service connected disability ratings are determined by each State. In Michigan, a resident of the State, honorably discharged, 100 percent permanently and totally disabled veteran is exempt from paying property tax on their primary residence, regardless of income. In addition, you should look at the other benefits offered. For a summary of Michigan's benefits check out the following link, https://www.michiganveterans.com/p/Benefits-for-100-Percent-Disabled-Veterans#11.

So, check with each State you are considering moving to, it just may help in your decision of where to call home.

Property tax exemption or reduction is dependant on your location. Example: Virginia was different requirements for every city or county. The state constitution was voted on and the rules amended to be the same everywhere in Virginia. Check with your local Treasurer/commissioner of Revenue for specific requirements.
