The question asked here recently about hoe normal it was for Signal enlisted to be used as Supply assistants has had me thinking a lot. Add to this a conversation with another Signal NCO who had had a conversation with a Specialist 25U in our Support Battalion about how prepared he was to repair signal equipment. The answer was that he'd never done his job, so probably not very good.

The school house loves to tell us that we will learn things we need from our units, but many units aren't prepared to give that instruction.

I just finished a manual on RETRANS that Ft Gordon will be publishing as a Training Circular. I have an idea percolating for a manual on standards for conducting Signal exercises (Commex, Digex, Connectex.....). So maybe this will be my trilogy.

I'd be interested in anything to help out my 25's. Unfortunately all the new doctrine won't solve your problem of units not using 25's in their career field. With how technical and fast our radios are changing you'll put someone way behind their peers if they ever stop doing 25 stuff.

MSG (Join to see) 82nd is trying to turn all that stuff in already by doing substitutions with the ITN stuff we have.
What I'll never understand is why give the TCN to an Airborne unit but the TCN Lite to all the Heavy units. That makes no sense.

LOL, Most folks on here won't know what a dog bone is! LOL

Connects the RT to the power supply in the old family of FM radios circa 1955.

There were dog bones on single channel AM radios, but they were not as numerous nor well known as the FM RTs.

He also knows everything about that one really confused dog bone in particular, and why it is Chapter 1.
