Nope. Senior ranking parent gets BAH, Soldier in Korea gets Family Separation Pay.

1SG (Join to see) - True, most people seem to forget that it's BAH only if quarters aren't available.

Sir, that’s what I thought. I was under the impression that he will not pull because he is in gov housing. CPT Lawrence Cable

CPL(P) (Join to see) - That would be correct. The Services only give you BAH if they don't provide you housing. Of course, if both of you are stationed at the same post and non available, you both pull BAH for your ranks with one getting with Dependent.

Rank into this exact scenario with one of my soldiers while at JBLM. You should receive bah with dependent status as you are maintaining a residence for your child. If your husband's command decides to let him maintain individual residence he qualifies for bah without dependents (flip flop that based on rank higher rank gets with lower rank without etc.) However if hes in government quarters and no in his own apartment he just gets family sep and bah will be deferred based on government quarters being provided. His bag will be solely up to his commands discretion is the long story short anyway.
