I'm not ready to agree with this. Yes, there is a great potential that the conflict with radical Islamists could be protracted. On the other hand, maybe not. The Islamic world, mostly centered in the Middle East, has enjoyed long periods of relative stability. I don't see why that couldn't happen again. The key is "submission". Islam teaches its adherents that submission is the key to salvation. However, people do not easily submit to weakness. Just as wolves would never submit to any but the strongest in the pack, Islamists will never submit to other cultures that roll over and expose their most vulnerable parts when they approach.

Thus, I believe that the terrorism will decline just as quickly as it rose when it is confronted with strength, when we have a Commander-in-Chief who will let slip the leashes on the dogs of war. No, I don't think they need to be loosed completely. Just enough so the terrorists can see their bared fangs should be sufficient.

100 years... no, It will take as long as it takes for us to wake up and decide who the enemy is and go old school on them. SIGH....It may take awhile. Political correctness will kill us all.

I think it has been going on for 1400 years. Not with us but with the world.

When you consider the Barbary Coast War, we've been at war with radical Islam for well over 100 years. There are just lulls in between. Islam has been at war with the world since its birth. It's part of the doctrine. I see no reason for it to stop. Ever.
