I lost a buddy in Vietnam. All I remembered was he was from Wheaton, Illinois. I searched for 30 years trying to find his family. I posted a memorial on the Virtual Wall. About 8 years ago I was contacted by a cousin who had seen my memorial. She told me his parents died after a couple of years after Greg was buried. She is his only living relative. We have become close over the years and she sends me cards every Veterans Day, and Memorial Day. She actually went to all of her neighbors and told them the story and she made a scrapbook for me with all of her neighbors writing something in it and cards from them. He's on my website with a picture she sent me. He and I were very close. His mother sent reel to reel tapes instead of mail. We used to cut up on the return tapes to her. I miss him very much.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs Anytime! A positive story that came from the Department of Veterans Affairs I had a share, even though it wasn't a story about the VA. Look in the bright side, the VA can at least do something right and share great stories!
