It's when they aren't trying, that's when we have a problem. You know the ones who are working on it, and the one's who aren't.<br /><br />The guy who blows out a knee and blows up 20lbs in a month because you can't eat like that anymore, while you're on the mend, and that just spirals out of control. SFC Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 29 Dec 2015 14:27:04 -0500 2015-12-29T14:27:04-05:00 Response by Capt Daniel Goodman made Aug 10 at 2019 5:10 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/would-you-consider-liposuction-to-lose-those-pesky-pounds?n=4900604&urlhash=4900604 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Having given considerable thought to the obvious bariatric procedures like a lap band, which has numerous fibrosis complications, eventually reaches a point of diminishing returns, and is far more difficult to reverse than initially apparent, and a gastric sleeve procedure, which entails having 80% of one&#39;s stomach amputated, though I utterly discount a full roux-en-ya gastric bypass as way too radical, with far too much possibility of adhesions, which one of our family friends did, in fact, have, as a result, that aspect has certainly occurred to me...at the same time, while I&#39;d done seven yrs of post-doc allied health residency before my total perm disability, I assisted with numerous of them, as part of my surgical enrichment training, I assure you...as procedures, they&#39;re by no means wholly benign, by any stretch of imagination, from all I&#39;ve either read and/or been told, as well as being extremely painful to have heal, combined with, depending on the skill of the plastic and/or general surgeon involved, exceptionally dangerous, depending on the exact level of brown fat removed (and trust me, I&#39;ve actually watched it being done, in an OR, more than once, I assure all of you. watching it is most definitely NOT for the faint of heart), there&#39;s also the need to have an abdominoplasty done to try to remove excess disternded abdominal skin, aside from the actual lipo procedure, itself...that being said, I can assure all of you, also, that, whenever one surgically tries to alter healthy tissue, however, annoying, and/or inconvenient, as well as physically unappealing, there are always going to be, inevitably, negative consequences accruing as a result...the same is true for LASIKand/or radial keratotomy in ophthalmology (though I gather the latter is now apparently passe, as well as pretty much wholly outdated, I&#39;ve only known one who&#39;d actually had it done), I&#39;ve seen elective procedures of every sort conceivable to try to alter the body for either cosmetic, and/or other practical reasons, and all of them, all, have their inherent limitations, downsides, and/or drawbacks, I can assure all of you...those are my thoughts, at any rate...my wife and I needed to have our cataracts done, mine having been accelerated due to steroid treatment for almost constant pneumonia I&#39;ve had, with associated cardiac stuff, which, at the same time, caused me to have lost all my hair...I mean, certainly, I dream of having a massive hair transplant to fix it, however, at some $20000-$40000 to do it, that appeal rather rapidly fades into the land of sheer practicality...I suppose I could cite other examples...in our cases, I had congenital Fuch&#39;s dystrophy, making the cataracts absolutely needed in my case, due to constant pain from epiphora (constant tearing due to corneal blstering) and drying out (called sicca, that&#39;s the clinical term for it), while my wife needed hers done due to her being long-term Type-II insulin diabetic...not that either of us were esp thrilled, certainly, however, in such cases, those types of procedures was obv way less radical than a full-body lipo, I can assure all of you...those are my thoughts, such as they are, at any rate, if any of you might care to chat about them, I&#39;d certainly be most eager to know any thoughts of all of you, by all means, whenever convenient, many thanks....
