Would you consider using Linux in your home? Have you used it before? What do you know about it?

I work with Windows at Work, but I haven't run anything but Linux in my apartment since 2009.
I'd suggest http://distrowatch.com/ and choose one of the ones at the top. My personal favorites are LinuxMint or Ubuntu. I'm writing you from LinuxMint.

I'm using Mint right now. 17.2 does all types of cool stuff without eating resources.

At work, it's all Windows World. It's the Professional version, so it has a lot less problems than the Home edition. I'm not willing to pay the however many hundreds to run the better version at my house. I like the Linux a whole lot better. The home PC is 4GB -- 16 GB at work -- yet the response is at least 10 times faster on the home PC.

I use Linux everyday I wouldn't recommend it for the gamer or non it person but if you know what your doing it could be very beneficial. Also it depends on your reasoning behind using a computer. I use Kali Linux but I work with pen testing and Cyber security.

I'm playing with Kali in VMPlayer now. There's enough to keep me occupied for years.

There is only so much that's worth it though, do some research on what you like and work with it, google, and Barnes and Noble are your friend

Linux is a lot like riding a bicycle. Once you learn it, you know it! LinuxMint and Ubuntu pretty much figure out how to put it on your machine, but you might wish to consider a live version before committing to installing it on your machine. With a live version, you can drive it and kick the tires without actually installing anything on your machine.
