The nice thing about a 501c is if their annual intake is normally more than $50k a year, they have to make a public financial disclosure that will show, to some extent, how the money is being used. <br /><br />Any reasonable size organization that is only in the business of being a charity will likely be a 501c. If they are not a 501c, I'd want to know what other activities they do that may disqualify them for 501c status. For example a common reason for not achieving a 501c status would be if they engaged in political activity in an election. If that's the case I'd want to know how much of my money is going to that and if I'm OK with whomever they are supporting.Response by SPC Kevin Ford made Sep 25 at 2016 5:05 PM2016-09-25T17:05:34-04:002016-09-25T17:05:34-04:00Sgt Wayne Wood1936510<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>if it's not a 501(c)3 i would be suspicious of the organization. there are too many organizations out here profiting off the support/sympathy civilians have for the military.Response by Sgt Wayne Wood made Sep 30 at 2016 2:48 PM2016-09-30T14:48:21-04:002016-09-30T14:48:21-04:00SGM Harvey Boone1937310<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Be very careful there are too many Money making scams.Response by SGM Harvey Boone made Sep 30 at 2016 9:04 PM2016-09-30T21:04:50-04:002016-09-30T21:04:50-04:002016-09-25T16:23:23-04:00
