I've seen medals thrown away for less... One deployment comes to mind in particular. The awards were clearly distributed by rank, and the ceremony clearly illustrated that. I've never seen so many ARCOMS and AAM's in the trash before... I understood completely though...

I personally would never stand with yayhoos like that. If they want to live under the Quran and Sharia law, they need to go to those backward countries and live.

I understand anti-war sentiments, and wondering whether getting involved in Syria is a worthy question.
They would have done well to bring up the issues with engaging on the current military operations (comprised of ten Tornados and a couple of support aircraft - woo!) rather than invoke the foibles of previous adventures in Iraq and Libya.
The UK involvement in Syria has far more to do with bilateral relations with France than it does with ISIS.

Would I join them? No. I do however understand it and support their right to do so. I know for me I feel a bit let down over Iraq. All those months spent there sacrificing time away from my family just to see it degenerate into the current situation. It makes me question why we were even there in the first place and what did we accomplish? I am proud of my service but disappointed in what happened after.

No. It is better to fight them there than on the home front. Those throwing their medals away are emotional children having a temper tantrum, IMHO.

I personally wouldn't being I'm still waiting for my MOH and Presidential Medal of Freedom to be processed by S1. They earned it, don't really agree with it, but it's not me.

I would lump them into the same group of poorly educated cowards that proceeded them (John Kerry anyone?). War is war, if you sign up for the military without realizing what the military does or how it advances the strategic goals of your nation you are poorly educated. Also the guy held up British equivalent of the Nation Defense Medal and the NATO medal. They also look like the stereotypical overweight bearded "I deployed so therefore my ignorant opinion matters" crowd.
