Some of those individuals are always grumpy, obnoxious, and sometimes even rude.

Your job is done for today, your boss is wrapping up. Would you still leave or stick around to help them, knowing there's no rewards and a high chance of getting annoyed by them? Would you stick around to help the 'grumpy'? 2014-07-15T10:22:11-04:00 PO1 Private RallyPoint Member 178600

Some of the jobs in our shop require certain individuals to stick around a bit past the hours at times. Gotta make them look good to complete the mission. Now if it is school or something like that then ask them if they need anything else. If they say no you asked and you get to go home. At my current job, I do find myself having to put in extra hours because someone else isn't done. For example, we had to replace the Backup Power Supply in the data center. Well there were a lot of moving pieces. I stood up and took on the role as Project Manager and I told the team that we were all in until everything checked out 100% and I'm glad we worked like that. We had an issue where even though the Backup Power Supply was in and 99% of everything was working right, our Network Engineer saw an issue and it took us a few extra minutes to work together to resolve it. If one of us would have left, it would have taken a lot longer to correct. So stick around and help out. Take things one step further and continue to push on. Does it suck? Sure does but then again, not everything in life results in rewards. Response by SGT Ben Keen made Jul 16 at 2014 9:34 AM 2014-07-16T09:34:59-04:00 2014-07-16T09:34:59-04:00 2014-07-15T10:22:11-04:00
