Donald Trump indicated he would most certainly consider jumping ship and running as an Independent Third Party candidate if the GOP 'mistreats' him, according to recent interviews.

Pressed on whether he would run as a third-party candidate if he fails to clinch the GOP nomination, Trump said that “so many people want me to, if I don’t win.”
“I’ll have to see how I’m being treated by the Republicans,” Trump said. “Absolutely, if they’re not fair, that would be a factor.”

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus called Trump earlier this month asking him to tone down his controversial rhetoric. More recently, the RNC rebuked him for saying that Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is not a war hero. Trump didn’t apologize but has since said that the 2008 Republican presidential nominee is a war hero.

Trump told The Hill that the GOP establishment in Washington dislikes him because he’s not part of the political class.

“I’m not in the gang. I’m not in the group where the group does whatever it’s supposed to do,” he said. “I want to do what’s right for the country — not what’s good for special interest groups that contribute, not what’s good for the lobbyists and the donors.”

The real estate magnate has upended the Republican presidential primary, with recent national polls showing that he is leading the 16-candidate field. Many in the party’s establishment, pointing to his inflammatory comments about Mexican immigrants and McCain, say that Trump is badly hurting the GOP brand.

Yet he is connecting with a significant chunk of GOP voters. And despite criticism from party leaders and other presidential candidates, Trump appears fueled by controversy.

Yes...I believe the two major political parties have run their course. It's been a long-run monopoly and it's time for a major third party to get things (at least on the surface) straight.

It would be a hard choice because a vote for a third party candidate, so far, is essentially a wasted vote. It would be hard not to though because I feel he might just be able to reenergize the country.

I still cannot grasp how anyone can consider Mr. Trump as a viable candidate. Anyone who takes more than five minutes googling his history should have no problems finding all the skeletons in his closet. I especially can't wrap my head around a man or woman with a military back ground supporting him after his disgraceful comments regarding Senator McCain. As silly as it sounds I feel legitimately embarrassed for my country that he is being taken as seriously as he is.

In short, not only is the answer to the original question a no, not only is it HELL no, it's firmly in the realm of F*** NO. Regardless of what party the man affiliates with. I can think of few people who would be a worse President of the United States of America.

Nothing is valid until the debates ramp up. If he's going to be taken seriously he's going to have to lay down specifics about his political stances and what he plans to do to implement his vision. His attitude is a breath of fresh air but we'll see if it's just for show.

I simply cannot believe that we only have the same families running this great nation.
For calling ourselves the beacon of democracy we are pretty behind on how and who runs our country.
Our electoral college system clearly do not depict the popular vote. The fact that we do not require an identification for our voters is pretty crazy. And what's even crazier is that politicians are against such requirement, only to leave one to speculate how many elections are won with illegal votes.
So before anyone spins their wheels it's already arranged who the candidates will be and who is the winner.... I personally do not believe in our current electoral system and regardless of party they all work for a special interest group and their lobiest

Any vote for any third party candidate is a waste. Even worse, it will help elect the party you want least. Remember how Ross Perot cost Bush his reelection? Remember how Ralph Nader cost Gore his election. There are other examples, but we don't need them. The GOP had best treat Trump fairly otherwise they will guarantee another Leftist in the Oval Office and I really don't think America can survive another eight or sixteen years of that as a free Republic...

If it were a two person race, and the other was Hillary, I'd vote for Trump.

The only other possibilities that would even cause me consideration are Trump versus Sanders (choosing between duelling wackos) and Trump versus Ventura. (In spite of being a Libertarian, I could not possibly vote for Scruff Face. I think I'd have to write in Joe Stalin, just to register my displeasure.)

I've voted third party most of my life. Until Trump, GWB was the only Republican Presidential Candidate I voted for before Trump, and that was because I despise John Kerry.
The 2012 election made me realize that the demographic shift away from the Democrats had added a new element to the Republican Party that made for some revolutionary change, so I started supporting the Rebels (Rand Paul is my Senator). This election was the final battle. What is more important is the fact that the Young Rebels have taken over the positions that were usually reserved for party favorites.
