Writers - Authors

I know a few authors who might like to tap into the knowledge found here, would anyone object if I reffered them to make accounts as supporting civilians?

SSG Trevor S. I think that this should stay just military related. I know the intent may be great and they might be great authors and keep it professional and let things "stay off the record" for some things. However, there are some thing here that they might take as a generalization that all military feel this way, etc.

I think may ask in a post of who would like to be contacted or talk to these authors and have them message your their point of contact. This way our privacy is intact and just military related here and the authors get their sources.

I would object to doing that. This is a place for us to come and share our ideas, thoughts, experiences and feelings with those that have "been there, done that". This is not a site for people to come and generate leads for a book or whatever. I think if they were allowed to be on this site, I would spend a lot of my time on here as a User Admin removing conversations that broke the standing policies of this site governing posts. We come here to share ideas and thoughts freely but as LTC Private RallyPoint Member said, it's off the record.

I've been contacted by media and authors looking for info on numerous occasions. If you're active duty, there are some serious OPSEC issues and most chains of command want any comment going through Public Affairs.
