As of 23 April 15, 8 women still remained in the first ever pilot of a gender integrated ranger course. Do you think this is a good thing? Do you think this is indicator that DOD will drop the ban on women serving in direct combat units? Interesting times.

Last I read on the Ranger association Facebook page was that none have moved onto mountains and that one or two have been recycled. I could be wrong though.

They are tougher than me, lol. Keep it up! That said, imagine the pain at the combat arms units when they have to watch what they say.

Had a 1SG when I was a scout that was hilarious to watch when family members were aroudn for promotions, awards etc. He'd go red in the face trying not to swear. Then he'd get mad when we couldn't keep ourselves from laughing making his face redder.

It is unfortunate that women still have to break barriers, but if the barriers are there I am glad they are being broken.

As of today, they have all failed patrolling and none of them are going to Mountain Phase.

The obligatory reduction in standards will soon follow... and men and women will die because of it.

If you meant driving on as failing Benning Phase then I guess. I wish the best for them but it is up to them to do this. From what I am getting 2 are gone and the others all recycled. I don't know if it is a day one or a Darby insert. I am sure if some are going to be a One Day it is going to be rough on them.

Just like the men, if they can pass the rigorous requirements to obtain the tab that's awesome. I am not a ranger and never been to the school so It is not my place to criticize others who wants that tab.

Eight women, 101 men will retake Ranger School phase

All eight female Ranger School students are being recycled and will not be moving forward this weekend to the mountain phase of the course.

I'm hoping at least one makes it. Im kind of concerned as they lost so many on day one on the PT test. I wish them best of luck so they can go kick some serious ass!

If you are mad you may be part of the problem. Sure they could "take a slot" that could go to someone others deem more deserving. What about that day down range that hasn't come yet where her skills learned there could save your ass? Everyone who needs to go will get to go so don't worry! Hope they can all be successful and the skills learned applied!

I'm just mad that it's really hard to find a place to urinate, change clothes and utilize my field wipes. Imagine being in a tiny fighting position and you have to risk exposing yourself to fire in order to conduct personal hygeine.
