We got a brand new Soldier fresh from AIT. Finally filling a MOS that has been vacant for over two years. Kid comes and in processes and already has all these documented injuries from basic and IET. But medical records don't show any breaks or tears, just the Soldier complaining about pain until they gave him profiles. Got to the unit with a dead man's profile and was discharged less than 6 months later....smh.

CSM (Join to see) when it is the new guy you can forgive it as just that. They are new and there is a learning curve. The real short bus, did your parents have any children that lived, how can you have survived this long being this stupid, please shower with a running hair dryer people are the ones who have been around and should know better. The ones who have been trained. The ones who have been around, and still ask day one booter stupid questions.
Me: Press and hold the Control key.
ShortBus: Which one is that, the one that says CTRL on it?
That is when I had to put down the headset, and walk away.
ME: Enter your E-Mail password.
ShortBus: The one for Outlook?
Me: Yes
SB: I am typing in the 8 stars, but it is not working.
Those are both real conversations I have had with people. I thought they were joking, but nope they were serious. This is why I do not use a computer when I leave my office.

Being a Combat Arms Instructor, all the new Security Forces Airman came to CATM to qualify on weapons once they're assigned Squadrons. For Airmen who's job it is to carry weapons daily on post, and had qualified IN tech school, you'd think they'd never seen a weapon. A new Security Forces class was like starting with A B C EVERY time.

not everyone teaches classes like a CATM instructor so the likelihood that every SF airmen going to qualify with their weapon for the first time is going to pass or will know all the steps in order to be successful is rare. I have been out of SF career field for a couple of years now, however when I was a SF instructor at the SF Academy, we did not spend a lot of time firing weapons so by the time they get to their first duty station it has been some months. We expected the weapons instructors to do their job and ensure all people regardless of when they got to the squadron to be baselined like everyone else. You should not assume that new airmen will automatically know what to do. that is how people get injured. I know that when you went to your first duty station, everything you were taught did not stick.
