So, I don't endorse what she said.

That said I take an extremely strict view of the constitution. Until she acts, no crime has been committed. Now there's no law against making her picture available to all police officers in an Officer Safety bulletin. It'll make her goal of murder a little more challenging. Heck I'd say this constitutes reasonable articulable suspicion to detain in order to see whether there's probably cause to believe a crime has been committed or planned for imminent execution.

It absolutely is Freedom of Speech. It's also Inciting a Riot.

The second she said "I’m plotting now.” it became a viable threat, and went from Protected Speech, to Speech that crosses a line (the old Fire in a Theater argument).

Just because you can say something, doesn't mean you should say something.

Inciting a Riot, or Fighting Words are not Protected. You can be stopped for saying it.

She's an idiot. This thought process is exactly what seperates each and evey race. I do not condone violence of any kind, but I also do not believe that Black Lives are the only ones that do not matter. If you want my respect or help speak up against what you see, but do not fight a bad cop on the streets. Fight them where they will not win, in the court system. WTF is this. Lumping all white cops and white people in general together saying that "they condone crimes against us" is pure BS!!! I have more friends who are non white than I do those who are white. Am I a racist? Nope, I believe there is only ONE race and that is HUMAN. It would really fall under communicating a threat and premeditation. As MSgt Rob Weston said, she has the freedom to say it, and that comes with the expectation of arrest and vetting for credibility. At the very least she should be investigated (and likely already has been) but not give her the spectacle and attention she is seeking. She probably has a warrant or two anyways given her level of common sense and respect for the justice system, so picking her up quietly could be simple.

Freedom of speech is not speech. Speech is not protected if it used to violate other laws--like inciting violence, murder, etc.

In other words it is not free speech to "say" I hate you by killing you. Murder is illegal therefore the act of demonstrating hatred by killing is not protected expression.

This example of speech was rightfully used as evidence of crimes by anyone who acted upon it, including the author.
