<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Does that mean Ted Crus (my key for the last letter of the alphabet is broken), Nicole Kidman, Craig Ferguson, Lis Taylor, Salma Hayek, Hugh Jackman, Anthony Hopkins, Mick Jagger and many many more should renounce their other countries?<br /><br />I don't even get the statement that 'We have room for but one language here and that is the English language' there are many successful people here that are bilingual. Italian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese...the list goes on and on. Hell, if we take this logic all the way back, us Americans should be speaking the language of the first peoples that settled here. But which one..the algic family of the northeast (Mahican, Deleware, Illinois tribes, for example) or perhaps Siouan Family of the planes (Kansas, Omaha, Crow tribes) There were over 100 language variants spoken on this land by Native Americans.1SG Private RallyPoint MemberSun, 02 Aug 2015 16:16:07 -04002015-08-02T16:16:07-04:00Response by CPT Jack Durish made Aug 2 at 2015 5:23 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It appears that most illegals arrive in America escaping from tyranny, expecting to find tyranny. They scoff at the law because the law where they come from is simply a tool of tyranny, used to subjugate them. Why should anything be any different in America? They come to take back what was stolen from them. Isn't it reasonable that Americans, like the tyrants where they come from, have so much only because they stole it from others? Therein lies the problem. Legal immigrants come for the same reason, to escape tyranny, but don't expect to find it here. They assimilate because that is how one becomes a law abiding citizen. They may hang onto vestiges of their culture, but their children want to become Americans. I know. I am only one generation removed from my immigrant grandparents. My wife is the child of immigrants. We are as American as it gets. Now watch the illegals parading in Los Angeles with their Mexican flags. Do you think they want to become Americans?CPT Jack DurishSun, 02 Aug 2015 17:23:40 -04002015-08-02T17:23:40-04:00Response by MSgt Curtis Ellis made Aug 2 at 2015 5:29 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have no problem with immigration... I do, however, have an issue with the enforcement of our current immigration laws, especially since it allows for both "Legal" and "Illegal" to receive the same benefits whether they are trying to become citizens or not... I don't have an issue with children of illegals who were born here and have been through and have graduated our school system K-12. I do, however, think that these children should be required to take the citizenship exam at HS graduation and/or before acceptance to any American College. Failure would not get them deported, but would make them legal aliens who are eligible for re-test, or employment if they did not wish to further their education. Any children they have would be considered American (Given my history, we have to draw a line somewhere). I also think that legal (not born here, nor graduated HS here) aliens be given a time frame to become American Citizens upon being accepted here, even if that exam has to be done in their native language, or be deported. At some point, we should hold the individual responsible especially since "we" are paying for it, and lines do have to be drawn in the sand letting them know they can either stand on this side of it, or board the boat back. I know there are many ideas on how to handle this, and mine is just one in billions, but at least its a fair opinion! <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am both excited and kinda depressed reading some of the responses to this, on one hand I’m excited because people are finally dropping the whole we have to deport the children of illegal immigrants born in the United States, but at the same time this shouldn’t be that exciting as it’s a provision of the 13th amendment, and it’s kinda disgusting that some politicians are capable of utilizing this as a campaign slogan.<br /><br />My simple opinion on all of this is that a lot of people get really excited when they talk about the whole waiting in line concept with immigration, the problem is that most the people who are illegal immigrants there was no line for them to wait in. I mean I looked into it the other day, and if the current immigration laws that existed when my ancestors came over I would still be in Europe, as currently in the United States unless you have a college degree we are no longer the new world to immigrants, being of sound body and mind with a willingness to work is no longer seen as a virtue worthy of coming to America.<br /><br />Last I would like to bring up his there is never been a time in the United States history where the actual immigration laws have been enforced well, and currently the net immigration from Mexico is zero. Als (o you’re going to be unable to deport your way out of this, and no matter what you do there is going to be immigration from Mexico, not for temporary work, not to just come in for the day, but people who want to live here. I completely agree that there should be no sanctuary cities, however I completely blame every single conservative on this site (I’m trying to make a humorous point just a second), every time a state or municipality is applauded for defying the federal government it empowers other cities or states to defy the federal government as well, so the next time you think about applauding or empowering the governor who refuses to issue licenses to same-sex couples, or the sheriff who says that he will arrest federal agents who may try to enforce federal gun laws remember the you may be empowering some ass hole in San Francisco to do the same thing and their Fucked up priorities.Cpl Chris RiceMon, 03 Aug 2015 05:41:37 -04002015-08-03T05:41:37-04:00Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 4 at 2015 9:01 PM
