Always take your leave. If you take it you continue to get BAH/BAS etc while you are on leave. If you sell it back you get base pay and that's it. also, due to the way the system works, you'll continue to accrue leave while you're on leave. LOL

Take your leave. For the the same reasons LTC Bruce Burch just mentioned. Its win win if you do it that way. It also counts toward time in service points, not so if it is sold back

after my last deployment I wound up with 115 days leave due to some kind of "dwell time" provision from a mobilization a couple of years earlier. I earned 7 days extra leave while I was on leave. If you sell leave back you are leaving money on the table. And, in most cases you can go back to your civilian job while you are on leave and "double dip".

Take your leave. You can only sell 60 days over the course of your entire career. 30 days of leave is worth one month of base pay minus 22% in federal taxes. Save it to sell it when your base pay is worth more
