I want to go ANG from ARNG. I've tried to get a conditional release and it has been procrastinated on or denied due to low retention numbers in the state. I'm forced to ETS from the ARNG to get into the ANG. I've been working with an ANG recruiter who has been fantastic! I have to sign conditional contract until I get my NG22. God willing everything is on track. I wanted to see how long it typically takes to get this form because I can't sign a complete contract with the ANG until I get this form. Yes I've tried every option other than ETSing. I ETS in about a month now

When I separated enlisted to become an officer, it took about 2 months for mine to pop up into iPerms.

SSgt (Join to see) If you no longer have access to iperms since separating, it will likely take much longer to receive it in the mail.

That's an interesting point. My CAC does expire at the end of the Feb, the same day I ETS. My readiness NCO says he going to call the G1 shop to speed it long and he could go into Iperms for me. There's some possible "what ifs" in my favor

Have you spoke personally with your ARNG Commander? I did when I got a Mil-Tech Position in the ANG. I had JUST re-enlisted for 6 years. He agreed under the condition that if the ANG position fell through, I would come back. It took about 2 weeks for me, with was in 1999

The problem is that all army retention is so low they won’t let anyone go. My company and battalion commander were on board with it especially since I drive 7 hours to drill but state wouldn’t move on it. I’m less than a month now so things should be good in a few weeks

The air national guard is amazing, I am surprise by the national guard retention rates why it so low. If the DD368 doesn't get approve could you start an interservice transfer? It starts with an IST forum?

An IST doesn’t apply here because of changing branches. I’ve done that before and quite the process lol. Glad to hear you like the Air Guard, and look forward to joining the team!
