There isn't a program that allows an AD USA member to transfer to the ANG or the AFR. You could possibly get released a few months early if you are planning on going to college. If you serve out your 4 years and do not re-enlist, you still owe Uncle Sam 4 more years in the IRR. You can potentially transfer at that point if you are medically cleared and the unit has an AFSC you qualify for. Army ASVAB scores are generated differently than the AF. If it's something you want to do, I'd highly recommend you get a copy of all your medical files, dental files, and your PIF (last promotion order, ERB, performance reports, PT scorecard with a passing score within the last 12 months, etc). It's a fairly easy process IF you have everything you need, your RE Code is good and you've been released honorably.

Good luck.

Well, Troy, that depends on your MOS and if the Army doesn't freeze you from being released early. I was in the US Army Reserve (not activated at the time) and they released me to transfer to the ANG, but that was a long time ago. It also depends on the state you want to transfer to, but here's the ANG Q&A number for the best answer to your questions: [login to see] FAQ Page: https://www.goang.com/frequentquestions

How much time do you have left? That's usually the defining factor that I have heard of when people Palace Chase.
