1. Meet with your new leadership and understand their expectations for you and ask questions if you don't know
2. Own everything you do, mistakes will happen. Excuses are not the way of a good NCO.
3. Care about your soldiers and mentor them.
4. Have fun!!!! Life is too short to be uptight all the time.

Set expectations clearly. Exceed those expectations yourself and set the high bar for what right looks like.

Above all get all the training you can. Find the next school you need to attend and keep your nose clean. Above all find some else to promote so they can take your job. Remember you do not own it you are just passing through to the next assignment.

SGT Robert Labaut - Me and my section are doing the pt test together. While yes I passed my pt test. I must achieve a higher score. So while yes I am doing it for myself. I will always run with my pt testers unless I have another job to perform elsewhere.

CPL(P) (Join to see) Congratulations on your promotion! Here is my advice:
1. You will make some mistakes as a Leader. Admit your mistakes, and learn from them.
2. Everyone will be watching you, so be a perfect role model that everyone can admire.
3. Do your homework on your new unit and be prepared. Be a planner in everything that you do.
4. Live your life and perform your duties with integrity.
