Last month, I completed a MUTA 2 and my annual training and did not receive any payment. I checked for my pay on the last day of the training which was on 24APR. There weren't any indications in my checking acct. or on myPay that I received payment. myPay showed a blank LES for April. I contacted my section sergeant and readiness NCO the same day to inform... now showing a blank LES for May.

Update, 10/23/2019:

I haven't been on RP in awhile and can't believe the amount of responses I'm still receiving LOL. My last contract was finished back in March and I'm no longer serving. The original post was more of me venting actually and seeking any advice that I hadn't already received. I knew better to report than create any future issues for myself. Thanks again to those who provided resourceful info while I dealt with that pay issue (not the 1st one lol).

My situation has been resolved as of today: I now have a LES generated for my AT and I'm in my state's pay system, finally. Persistence with calling JFHQ did the trick! Thanks all for your advice and guidance.

Jo Ann: JFHQ stands for Joint Force Headquarters. Every state has one and it heads the Army and Air National Guard units for your state. Every JFHQ has a main finance office for the entire state. He needs to go up through the proper channels of his CoC (chain of command) first. If he isn't receiving some help in a timely fashion, then he should notify his CoC that he's going to consult the state finance office for a more defined response as to what is happening.

I thought that Joint Forces Command stood down in 2011?

CPT (Join to see) - Different realm. The JFC may have, but the NG has air and Army elements in each state so considers them "Joint" HQs. Allows for more senior slots. :)

Yeah service just out of patriotism doesn’t pay bill and feed you I get there is a reason we all serve but nonetheless it’s a job and by law pay is due but not showing up is never a good idea just show up keep plugging away at the Chain of command if it doesn’t get rectified start a congressional bet it gets fixed then

Yes, you would be wrong not to show up, Sergeant. I realize pay is a very big issue, but it cann be rectified quite easily by talking with your chain of command.

You do not need to be known as a NCO who only shows up for money. If that's the only reason you are in, please request an administrative reduction to a lower rank.

COL Benny Richardson It sounds like this was going on for a while. Someone should be disciplined for this inaction.

Easy for you to say, being an officer. The army is a job. Sure it's not the same as a civilian job by a long shot, but it's a job nonetheless, and expecting your subordinates to do their job for free and giving them grief when they say they don't want to do that, and to tell them to take a pay cut if they don't like it, is truly a dick move and you will never have the respect of your subordinates.

What would happen to his family if they became homeless due to this?
Would the OIC be demoted? Probably not. The SM would be reprimanded and have a negative mark on his record.
Years ago, but I was counseled for the results of a pay/administrative screw up that negatively affected my life. No the chain of command was not held accountable (officers).

PO2 Seth Carron - I wholeheartedly disagree. Speaking as a "joe", if I had issues with my pay, not coming to work would not be an option. Issues with pay can be rectified. They are unfortunately all too common. I have a duty to report to my post every day until I am relieved, as stated in my first general order. As the LTC said, you don't want to be the guy who only works for a paycheck.

SGT (Join to see) I can understand your frustration, but pay issues can be resolved. it would be best for you to attend your upcoming drill. Good luck with your pay issue!

The us government owes me 1 million in back living quarters allowance. I sucked it it up and just retired as a GS 12 in 2012.
