Leave it to the Army to make something old new again. I'm thankful with the ongoing operational pace we've been under that active army stoped looking down their nose as much as they used to at the Guard and Reserve. Thanks for your post SGM Mikel Dawson!

It was not uncommon that AD officers did not like the USAR it was apparent by their actions at various unit qualifications testing. I had a negative experience when I mobed individually USAR to USAR Civil Affairs units. They are thought to be special operations and we interloped and it was not appreciated. The Rhode Island Civil Affairs units were very unprofessional.

I had a great one in 2005. 2/11 ACR deployed under the 155 SAB, a national guard brigade, my company, a guard infantry company, was put under 2/11. They swapped us for a tank company. The tank company was active and under a guard battalion.

LTC (Join to see) Sir, I am from Idaho, started out in the IANG. Did you ever come to Germany with the 116th to any V Corps exercises? I remember they were there a couple times.

SGM Mikel Dawson no SGM, I left to go into the USAR in California. I just volunteered for the OIF 3/4 Kirkuk, Iraq mission.
