It amazes me now many soldiers don't know how to navigate with a map. We have become far to dependent on our electronic gadgetry.

1LT Lee Chr - Don't get me wrong I did not say we did not need the gadgetry. I'm a retired M1A1 tanker there is a whole lot of gadgets in that beast. You are correct skills such as navigation with map, compass, protractor and terrain association need to be used in conjunction with the new navigation systems.
