On the night PO1 Douglas Munro was killed in WWII, the Coast Guard's only CMOH recipient saved the lives of 500 Marines, including this man's.
The U.S. Armed Forces share a special bond. We serve the same public and take the same oath to support and defend the Constitution. The sacrifice of the USCG's SM1 Douglas Munro goes to the very core of that relationship. More importantly, it epitomizes the bond we will always share.
