We need an Admiral who has guts to teach the Iranians a lesson.

Agreed! The last Admirals though who tried to take action (a General also) during the Benghazi incident, was canned. When US ships are threatened or harassed, they need to be sunk!

It’s not the Fleet Admirals, but ROEs dictated by Pentagon chair bound politicians.

MCPO Roger Collins Kind of like how president Johnson would micromanage bombing missions from the White House?

For those wishing for action which would lead to loss of life??? Get a life. There are more instances of close quarter “drills” than one can count. Having been in one such publicly unreported close quarters dance several years ago, we were manned and ready with HE rounds in the hopper. If either side had fired first, the carnage of an at sea engagement is only akin to the results of being in a penetrated tank. At-sea games of chicken have long been a rule of life near contested waters. In addition the TS ROEs are inches thick and written in blood. Cowboys best stay on the range. Warships are sovereign soil at sea and not to be used lightly. Besides who here wants to be the CACO to tell a family that a child or parent was killed over ships scraping against each other much less playing chicken?
