The Coast Guard snipers are no joke - while I know it seems like a rather funny idea these guys (and gals) shoot to kill engines. Seriously - not easy - moving targets while airborne.

Sniper shot at cigarette boat.. he didn’t get it.. the shell his rifle ejected did .. by some eierd circumstance the chopper flew over
The cigarette boat and the ejected shell rolled out and down and into engine of boat fouling the engine ..
was reason why they couldn’t comprehend the boat quitting .
They found the casing later in boat’s engine compartment..
just one of those things ..

When I was a sniper for the 101st, we had to requalify 19 out of 20 hits at different distances every other month. If you didn't requalify they only gave you one another chance.
