Our son received an inspiring letter from Rear Admiral James E. Rendon at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy for obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

I built a scrapbook of these letters for my son when he made Eagle. He loved having everything in one place and it was helpful for resumes and applications.

Lt Col Charlie Brown,
We have did the same. We were amazed at how many certificates and letters he received. You are so right concerning applications.

Also, has he done anything with Civil Air Patrol (CAP), or Navy Sea Cadets? I'd tried to help with Navy Sea Cadets, as they have, with AFA for USAF, very active STEM programs...he's probably nearly done with high school, I'd expect, so might be past other programs, likely as the scouting might well have consumed most of his time, however, I was merely wondering, as I reflected on the various petters you'd sent in...I was just curious what his preferences and/or interests were, so far as you might care to relate at all...amateur radio? Model rocketry? Electronics? Comp sci (CS) and/or IT, I'd expect as well? Any clinical interests? Bioscience topics? AP credits he's gotten thus far? I just tend to have an interest in such things, esp. in trying to volunteer as I'd said....

This is one of the USAF opposite numbers, I'd expect you've seen all of those, likely shown him as well, at various points, certainly....
