Marines killed in Nepal relief mission honored.

Two Marines killed while documenting relief efforts in Nepal became the latest visual information specialists to have their names added to the Hall of Heroes at the schoolhouse where they trained.

Cpl. Sara Medina, a combat photographer, and Lance Cpl. Jacob Hug, a combat videographer, were assigned to Marine Corps Installations Pacific when they got the call to cover the service's relief efforts in Nepal following a devastating April 25 earthquake. On May 12, they were among the six Marines killed when their UH-1Y Venom helicopter crashed eight miles north of Charikot.

On Monday, Medina and Hug were inducted into the Defense Information School's Hall of Heroes aboard Fort George G. Meade in Maryland. There are now 128 names in the hall, which recognizes troops in public affairs or visual information job specialties who have died in the line of duty since the Korean War.
