Reservists are allowed to complete some of their drills with alternate units, pending command approval. Are they also allowed to complete drills with other branches of service? Any insight or instruction is appreciated!

If your command supports it, then yes. In the Army, you just need a DA 1380 certified by someone with knowledge that you completed any scheduled training.
Having said that, whatever a different component would be doing for training ought to be quite different from what you'd experience in the Navy. I'd question the value you would get, aside from the novelty of working with Air Force or Marines for a weekend.

The big push now is “Joint” experience. It could help to mark off that box in your records.

Command discretion. As long as your commander feels that you performed the same type of duties in a similar manner, I do not see why not.

Short answer is yes. However, the unit commanders have to agree ahead of time and for the USAR it has to be documented on a DA 1380.
