What steps could I take to go from Reserve IS to a commissioned Navy Intelligence Officer?

What actions would be a must/preferred to be eventually selected for OCS? My goal is to become a commissioned Navy Intelligence Officer. Currently I am a Reserve Intelligence Specialist.
I understand that experience is something I lack compared to most; so I've volunteered/been tagged for mobilization later this year.
I've been accepted into the Homeland Security Program at the University at Albany, which I will start when I return from my MOB. Is this degree acceptable?
I've also sought out a Junior Enlisted Professional Development Training to participate before my MOB, this year.
I also will be working to earn my Warfare Qualification before the end of the fiscal year.
Is there anything else I could do to reach this goal in my career?

IS2, take a look at the NPC page for Officer Programs, there is a lot of good information there and most of your questions will be answered. I don't think you need to worry too much about what degree, but having one that relates to your desired career field will help. OCS is the least difficult of the Navy commissioning programs to be selected for, but it is still very competitive. Don't overlook STA-21, which has a lot more administrative requirements, but pays you while in school and allows you to continue to advance in your enlisted rank. Is the Navy particular to a degree for MI? I thought any 4-year BA would suffice. I believe it is that way in the Regular Army and the Army Reserve/ National Guard. Let us see what others say.

To my knowledge, any bachelor's degree is accepted or the very least considered, however some specific programs are "preferred," like International Relations for example.
Also, specific to the Navy Intelligence Officer, prior enlisted Intelligence Specialists (IS) are encouraged. I assume individual experience plays a large role in that aspect as well. Thank you for your input, sir.

PO2 (Join to see) I knew a Chiropractor with a Medical Degree became MI in the California ARNG when I commissioned. Maybe MAJ (Join to see) can help you since he was an MI Interrogator before going Civil Affairs. He is USAR. Being a Shipmate is Cool but I'm trying to see if there is a plan B for you in case you have too many requirements in the USN MI.
