[~366284:PO3 Frank OpaleckyI agree with the following article in the story:
The name change reverses the 2005 directive to relabel cryptologic officers as information warfare officers and it also brings them in line with their enlisted counterparts in five cryptologic ratings.

Less of an actual job execution description than a community descriptor. I would ask, does it make you less if one if some Officers in your Community share that title? As it gives their name back, and they are the same group, don't see an issue. Just my $0.02.

Doesn't really affect the enlisted. Effective Leadership acknowledges those that do the job. If the Officer is not, what does it matter what they call him/her? The Chiefs and SPO's know who the good/bad officers are. Does NOT make any difference what title they have, only NTK and Rank.

Frank, completely agree with you. NEVER saw an "O" working the stuff at all. Of course understand that I have never been on a ship to see what happens there, only at joint facilities and the agency.

Agreed shore commands was definitely worse. Onboard ships I was on, half the time you had to FIND them first.
