Really enjoyed hearing your story & section on entrepreneurship, SSgt Wes ODonnell. Many of us have a real desire to take this path, but knowing where to start is the hard part. Getting that degree really allows us to take a big step in the right direction. I'd also recommend as much business world experience as you can get through internships and networking. Doors will open in the right direction.

I personally recommend AMU to anyone looking to attend school, especially while still in the service. I started working on my degree at AMU while fulfilling my duty as a Drill Sergeant and with a family member with a chronic illness that required frequent late night hospitalizations. The school was flexible enough to allow me time to handle my responsibilities and to get my course work completed and turned in. The instructors were absolutely fantastic and more responsive than at any other online university I attended. When I go back for my Masters, this school will be at the top of my list.

I completed my Bachelors with AMU and had zero issues. The online format worked while I was rotating shifts every month. The worst I had was a professor that demanded lots of lengthy papers, but I was a history major, so it's expected. I've already started my Masters with them and they're meeting the expectations I had coming from their undergrad program. In fact, my next class starts in a week.

I actually failed a class there once, Russian Literature, because of an Air Force deployment to Ecuador that took up too much of my time. They don't pull any punches, which is a good thing. I expect graduate school to be demanding.

No issues with any professors at the time, but I've been out since 2010.

Great resolution! A great place to start is FTCC. Contact Kristina Noriega at [login to see] and she will show you the best way to get the most value for your military training in your quest to get a bachelors degree! Good luck with it! Dave
