Thank is very sad news my friend MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D.. The spring before I reported to USMA, West Point on July 3, 1976 as I was being inducted into the Corps of Cadets USMA class of 1980, the USMA class of 1978 electrical engineering cheating scandal shocked USMA and the nation as 235 cadets were implicated in the 'take home' electrical engineering exam. The number of cadets separated as a result of the honor scandal is 151.'
In beast barracks, as plebes we were reminded about this cheating scandal numerous times.
My Blue Book from my cadet days is something I certainly treasure. The Cadet Honor Code '“A cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do” is inscribed on my heart/soul/
There would never again be a take home exam - at least while I was cadet [July 1976 - May 1980]

SPC Nancy Greene - I agree with you 100% Nancy. In the NCO corps classes from the Basic NCO course, BNCO, ANCO and the First Sgt's course, you really have to know your shit. West Point standards have to be way higher than ours. In the infantry, the platoon Sgts. take care of the platoons while the Lts are basically admin, most of the time doing reports. We do all the training in the fields and the testing. It's sad to see when things like this happen, because everybody will know about it, and you know how news travels. The whole world will know about it. This is disturbing, no doubt!!
