Belated thank you my friend and brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see) for your diligence in posting our friend, former RallyPoint member emeritus, and brother-in-Christ Colonel Mikel Burroughs VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day for Friday, Tuesday 20, 2022.

Topic: Enjoy the Ride Day
My thought for the day 'Enjoy the ride of life and help others to enjoy it as much as we can.'
1. By God's grace and especially the fruit of the Spirit patience, I have learned to enjoy the ride while driving, as a passenger in a vehicle, train, ship or airplane.
2. I expect that parent who experienced young children clamoring impatiently 'are we there yet,' 'how much longer,' and other signs of impatience has been irritated to hear these statements. No doubt many of us remember when we were clamoring are we there yet;)
3. Humor is a blessing. The best humor causes us to laugh along with and never at anybody.
4. Learning to laugh at our own antics and self provides near constant entertainment and does not hurt anybody.

Quotes:
1. Benedict Cumberbatch 'Enjoy the journey of life and not just the endgame. I'm also a great believer in treating others as yo
2. Germany Kent 'It is more important to go slow and gain the lessons you need along the journey then to rush the process and arrive at your destination empty.'
3. Kenneth Branagh “Lighten up, just enjoy life, smile more, laugh more, and don’t get so worked up about things.”
4. Hunter S Thompson 'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intension of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserve

Scriptures:
a. 1 Peter 5:5-7 ESV 'Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.'
b. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 ESV 'For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace'
c. Colossians 3:12-14 'Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another,
d. Luke 10:33-34 ESV 'But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.'
e. 2 Corinthians 11:25b-27 ESV 'Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure.
f. 3 John 1:5-8 ESV "Beloved, it is a faithful thing you do in all your efforts for these brothers, strangers as they are, who testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner worthy of God. For they have gone out for the sake of the name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth."

I have no doubt that the LORD has blessed you with the fruit of Spirit patience. Very few seek patience from the LORD. God knows we need patience especially with those we love. Spouses and children know how to push buttons and do so absent-mindedly, when tired, or purposefully at times. I hope and pray that you and I are becoming more consistent in resisting temptation to push people’s buttons. The LORD admonishes us to treat others as we would like to be treated. ‘Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. [Colossians 3:12-14 ESV] my brother-in-Christ PO2 (Join to see)

I pray for humility, endurance in selfless service, compassion and sufficient fruit of the Holy Spirit goodness, peace, self-control, and patience for each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. Thank YOU, LORD for developing patience in each of us through challenges and maturing us in YOUR perfect timing. Let YOUR peace flood through us to bring calm to troubled situations and relationships. 'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid' [John 14:27 ESV]

I lift those struggling along the road of life because of grief, pain, weakness, fear, abuse and/or injustice to YOU, LORD including the guiltless imprisoned, those afflicted with PTSD and mental illness. I pray for sufficient endurance and a strengthening of the character if each one of us who is going through harder times than we have previously experienced – including widows, widowers, divorcees, and others whose hopes, dreams, and love has been upended LORD, YOU know how much each individual can bear. YOU build character in each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters through challenges, trials and periods of suffering. We recognize that YOU build character through our challenges. Strengthen our endurance through these trails dear LORD. ‘Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.' [Romans 5:3-5 ESV]

I lift those who are infected with presently untreatable diseases, those with terminal cancer, those with other terminal diseases, those in hospice care, and their loved ones to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU guide the mind, hands, and feet of those caring for each, treating them, counseling them and preparing them and their loved ones for the death of the patient. YOU are the author of life. Man knows not his time of demise and YOU know exactly when, where and how each one is to be born and each one’s death. I pray that YOU bless each one who is grieving for any reason tonight with abundant peace, joy and the ability to sleep well tonight with pleasant dreams. 'Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.' [1 Peter 5:6-7 ESV]

I pray for a secure night for each deployed service member, police and agents on duty, emergency room personnel, fire and rescue and EMT. I pray that none will die without the eternal security of personal relationship with you. Bless their family members with a secure and peaceful sleep and ability to rest in the comfort that YOU are their shield and buckler. ‘How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice; together they sing for joy; [Isaiah 52:7-8a ESV

I pray that you and your family members sleep well Friday night and each will awake refreshed and healthy on Saturday morning.
