I spent 4 months getting my Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business certification from the VA. I submitted more paperwork than required for my security clearance in the military. Have any other veteran entrepreneurs had this same issue when getting their SDVOSB or VOSB certification through vip.vetbiz.gov?

I've taken one small business through the CVE process and am in the process of taking another through now. It is a pain to undergo but there is good opportunity on the other side. I help a lot of SDVOB's get going through GallantFew (no charge). If you're interested in talking drop me a note. [login to see]

I have dealt with SCORE and each of their offices varies on their ability to assist veteran entrepreneurs. SCOREs mission is to help all entrepreneurs so in some cases their resources are stretched thin. http://www.thejonasproject.org aims to specifically help vets.

SCORE has nothing to do with the VA SDVOSB process and cant help there. Best bet is to go on the VIP.VETBIZ website and find a company with that cert already and get their mentorship

September to October 2020. I had a completely positive experience and the many negative stories had caused me to procrastinate for nearly 2 years. I registered in SAM.gov and in SBA ahead of time.
I had all the paperwork researched ahead of time and ready to submit so it took me one full day to load everything up. I was assigned a counselor who called me and worked with me one on one for about a week to make sure that everything would go smoothly when the paperwork left her desk. She had told me the review averages about 6 weeks but I got certified in ONE week after she submitted the paperwork at her end. The most onerous issues I had were getting the webpage username and passwords for all the sites, like SAM.gov and SBA.
