English longbows were a feared weapon and their wielders were well trained.

Aye, that they were. It took a lot of strength to pull those suckers.

I have read that they were so good and had such range that an English Longbowman could fire off an additional 4 or 5 arrows in the time his first hit the target.

The training started at around age 10. In a single year their proficiency could have placed them into battle.
This was my first one.

The French made several mistakes. First, was deploying from a marching column to a battle line with no real cohesion. Second, assuming the longbow could be effectively countered by the shorter range crossbow. Third, reliance on mercenary troops, in this case the Genosese crossbow men. Just my observation from the material.
