How about that...
"More than 500 criminals are traveling with the migrant caravan that’s massed on the other side of a San Diego border crossing, homeland security officials said Monday afternoon."
"The revelation was made during a conference call with reporters, with officials asserting that "most of the caravan members are not women and children". They claimed the group is mostly made up of single adult or teen males and that the women and children have been pushed to the front of the line in a bid to garner sympathetic media coverage."

I wonder how they would know who is a criminal and who is not until they process them?

MSgt (Join to see) - OK,,, thank you.
From the link:
", there are over 270 individuals along the caravan route that have criminal histories, including known gang membership. "
This from paid informants.
Now, if we know these people are there, why can we not stop them? And it should not take the US Army to stop 270 people.

MSG Stan Hutchison - Mexico offered all the people in the caravan asylum in Mexico. Most turned down the offer. They are not looking for asylum otherwise they would have taken Mexico up on the offer. They have NO RIGHTS TO ENTER THE US ILLEGALLY. There are laws and procedures that have been in place FOR A VERY LONG TIME. If they want to come here to the US, they must do so legally like so many other have. Furthermore, the troops are there to support border security. Border patrol can't be there every square inch 24/7.

Why does it feel like Homeland Security is speaking off a White House talking paper?

Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin You've been around long enough to know that agencies put out info that backs their positions, not necessarily the facts. So with that said I question the assumptions in the Myth vs Fact DHS attachment.

They do not release facts which are untrue. Already they have stated there are criminals running with the caravans. That information is getting updated as they continue to have these caravans observed.

Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin If you say so, sure haven't heard much about all the criminals with the caravan since they reached Tijuana though.

I spent time writing doctrine for Information Operations, and had some very enlightening discussions with the Public Affairs reps, who were there to provide SME information on Media Operations for the Human Influence Ops discipline of IO. The media arm of the US government cannot by law willingly lie about the facts they report on. Even the associations of Media Operations to Counter-Propaganda operations resulted in very tedious discussions and carefully crafted language to separate the two. Even getting associated with human influence operations was met with a lot of push back because of the perception. In the end it had to be made clear in the doctrine that the Military PAs cannot report false information.

Should be easy to reject them for asylum if they actually can identify them as criminals.
